Warrior Covert QR1 Review

Here is my review for the Warrior Covert QR1

I'm going to be honest here and say that the QR1 is the best stick I have ever tested to this day. It is such a great stick from the blade to the shaft. This is only my opinion, but I know there's people out there that would agree with me. Lets start with the blade. You can feel the pucks every move and when shooting. The blade does not flex barely at all so it works very good for all shots. I also love the shaft. It has a perfect flex point and the ribbed grip just gives the entire stick an amazing feel while shooting, stickhandling or passing.
Specs:
Dagger T2- A very slim taper for a quick release
Corner Impact- Reduces wear on the corners for a longer lasting stick
Truel Construction- Makes a more true one piece stick
Etched 7 Carbon Fibres- Stronger and lighter carbon fibre
TwinSpar 45 Degrees-  Stiffer internal structures to control taper flex
CorTex grip- Stick on the flat spots, ribbed on the corners

Overall the stick is best for a player who takes quick release shots, and better for wristers and snappers. Cheaper versions based off the QR1 include the QR Pro, QR3, QR4 and QR5.

Bauer Supreme TotalOne MX3 Review

The flex on the MX3 is something you will notice right away, being that the kick point is so high. It will take some adjusting, but after a few shots it felt really good. The flex point can help make your shots faster, and is good for someone who like to wind up and take big shots. The blade also feels great taking shots. It has an amazing blade feel and responsiveness to go along with the stick.The overall feel of the stick is awesome when taking the big shots.
Specs:

Power Sense 2- creates a better balanced and lighter stick

Monocomp Construction- the stick is build in one piece helping with responsiveness

ELASTech- helps prevent micro fractures in the shaft

TeXtreme- carbon fibre 20% stronger and lighter then 12k carbon fibre

Overall the stick is perfect for any player who likes to take big shots. If you want a cheaper version based of the MX3 you can search for a Bauer Supreme 190, 180, 170, 160.

CCM RBZ Superfast Review

The blade of the Superfast is good for both shooting and passing. It gives you a good feel for the puck, and is also very stiff while shooting. The materials on the inside of the blade help you get more pop off your shot, resulting in a quicker shot. Something that we all love! The wight of the stick is something that I've never heard of before, but is extremely creative and useful. The stick is weighed in certain spots so that you can get the best swing possible while warming up for a slapshot, or even a snapper. It has got to be one of the most inovative ideas of the year when it comes to sticks, even though it isn't anything very high tech and it also won't have any disadvantages. I also think that the flex feels perfect. The Superfast features a kick-point that changes depending on the shot you take. It will help you get the most speed possible when taking a wrister or a clapper
Specs:

Speed Pocket Technology- Has 50% more C.O.R. than the RBZ Stage 2 to help maximize puck speed without sacrificing any control or durability

Custom Kick Point- Provides a precise and customized kick-point to maximize loading. Kick-point will change depending on where your bottom hand is

Power Swing- Fine tuned weight and distribution provide a faster swing for more puck speed

Overall the Superfast was an amazing stick. It combined many thing players want, with everything players need. The technologies in this stick are crazy, and you'll love them. If your looking for a cheaper version there is the RBZ 150, 130 and 110. If you used a stick from the RBZ or RBZ Stage 2 line in the past, you'll like this one even better.

Easton Synergy HTX Review

The blade on the HTX feels great while shooting. I'm not a toe shooter at all so I thought I would take no benefit from the Hypertoe blade. The most I use my toe in shots is when I'm pulling in the puck for a snapshot. I was surprised that I still like the blade because I thought it was only going to give an advantage to toe shooters. I noticed that even when I just let the puck slide off the toe on my wrist shots, it gave that a little boost. You can also notice Easton's Hypertune when your shooting. You can feel it in your shots, and it just gives the flex a great feel. It definitely helps your shots be in more of a fluid motion. Just the whole feel of the stick when Easton's "Load, Release, Velocity" system kicks in is amazing.
Specs:

Hypertuned- The blade and shaft flex in unison making for a more responsive blade for every player

Dual Lie- The blade sits on the heel while catching passes, and moves to the toe while shooting. This will help load the blade for maximum release

Hypertoe- Positioning the puck on the toe forces you to load the blade and creates more velocity. The stiffened toe and softened taper create more force with the same load

Overall I loved the HTX. It shares alot of the same technologies as last years V-Series line, but the Hypertuned finishes it all off. I think its a big improvement over the V9 and V9E. There are also downgrades such as the Synergy 80, 60, 40 and 20.

CCM Tacks Review

The first thing you notice about the CCM Tacks stick right when you pick it off the shelf is the grip. The grip is all over and there are dots along the edges for even more grip. It is almost impossible to lose a handle on the stick, making it great for big shots. You can also feel the blade right when you start shooting. It is nice and stiff for better accuracy. Sometimes if you lean on the blade to much, it will bend which decreases power and accuracy for any shot. The sticks flex points are also amazing for those big blasts.
Specs:

Attack Frame Blade- Stiff blade for better accuracy

Mid Kick Point- Gives power and pop to all your shots

T Geometry- Improved control and accuracy

So overall the stick was pretty nice. It is made all for accuracy, from the blade to the geometry. The  mid kick point is best for player who like to take big shots. For those looking for a cheaper version, there is the Tacks 5052, 3052 and 1052.

Bauer Nexus 8000 Review

The Nexus 8000 had great pop on it for any shot, but I loved it for my snappers. The pucks just have a release that makes it effortless to shoot. With the Nexus line being for control, you'd expect a good feel for the puck on the blade. That is definitely what you get with the 8000. You can feel the puck no problem, making stickhandling with your head up way easier. The flex point of the stick felt awesome on my opinion because I liked that a got got pop on snappers and slappers but still a nice quick release on wristers, Bauer advertises that the new Nexus line will give you better accuracy, which I didn't believe until I tried. I was using a Toews curve, one I've never used before. I said to my Dad that if I hit 3 crossbars in 3 shots, I would believe it. First shot-crossbar, second shot- crossbar and third shot- crossbar.

Nexus Tru-mid flex- For a quick, effortless release with natural power

eLASTech Technology- For more durability and longer pop life

teXtreme Technology- Carbon fiber that's 20% stronger and lighter than traditional 12k carbon fiber

Monocomp Technology- removing access material at the molding point for a more balanced stick

Pure Shot Blade Profile- Reduces twist on the blade for more accuracy

Overall the stick was really nice. It has a perfect flex point, amazing pop and good weight. If you are looking for down grades there is is the Nexus 7000, 6000, 4000 and 2000. I would recommend this stick to a person who wants good accuracy.

The Rekker EK15 was an amazing stick. Sher-wood is being very underestimated because they have cheap sticks that are popular among starter players, giving Sher-wood the nickname of "duster gear". The new Rekker EK15 is nothing close to duster gear. Its the lightest stick on the market weighing in at 385 grams.You fill how light it is the minute you take it off the rack. Compared to most other top of the line sticks it is 40 grams lighter.  That weight doesn't sacrifice the durability of the stick. It is 100% handmade, which reduces flaws in the stick and making it less prone to premature breakage.The blade of the stick gives you great feel and good pop. It is definitely one of the best blades I've used. The Rekker also has a low kick point. Making it perfect for the finesse shooter.

Contoured feel- Double concave walls with rounded sides

Spear Construction- A true one piece stick. Improves puck feel

Ekore- Handmade stick helps flex point consistency and improves durability

12k carbon weave- Goes throughout the stick, making it durable and very light

Overall the Rekker EK15 is like a new birth to Sher-wood. It is a stick that can compare to other top of the line sticks from big brands. Theres still one more thing, the price. As other sticks are $270 to $300 for a senior, the EK15 is only $200. There is also the Rekker EK9 for $100 and the Rekker EK5 for $50. This line of sticks is best for a forward who takes quick release shots and instead of doing a big windup and blasting it through the goalie, likes to just snap of the puck and keep the goalie wondering when it left the stick. Its got a blacked out stealthy look, which is getting very popular. I love the looks of the twig.

I loved the Dynasty AX1 ST. The first things you notice about the stick is the weight and the grip. The weight is very light like most top of the line sticks.It would be great for swinging the stick on those big clappers. The grip feels nice in your hands. It is right in the middle of a matte grip and a sticky grip. Perfect for the players that just want a little grip, but not too much. It has a good feel on the blade for both stickhandling and shooting. You really get a feel for the puck. It was one of those sticks that is just easy to shoot. You pick it up and try it out for the first time. but it feels like you've already had the stick for a month or two. Its an amazing thing because it wont take long to get used to the stick.
Specs:

AXY SYM- Compression fibers that build up recoil and power into the puck

MID KICK- Stick flexes in the middle of the shaft. Built for powerful shots

HARDCORE X- Offers the lightest blade with 60% higher compression resistance and 40% greater tensile strength

CARBONIZED- Carbon-plated glass fiber resists chipping and cracking. Carbonized blade is 40% stronger and stiffer

TWINSPAR EXT- Internal carbon structures connect front and back face of blade. This results in lightning quick recoil and accuracy

ARAMID SOLE- Bullet proof fibers wrap the bottom edge of the blade to increase impact toughness by 4 times

SLICK GRIP- Offers grip and maximum control where you need it most

VELVET TOUCH- A grip for the player who likes it in between a clear and a soft grip

STRONGARM- Lower area of the shaft is bigger for a better hold on the blade. That means more stability and less twisting

HIFUSED- Stick is fused together in a location that will resist twisting and improve balance. Blade will feel responsive yet stable

Overall the stick was amazing. Just another great top of the line stick from Warrior. The Dynasty series is for the player who likes to take big shots. Perfect for a d-man or a forward who wants powerful shots. The Warrior Dynasty AX1 ST and AX1 LT are the top of the line sticks. For a cheaper option there is the Warrior Dynasty AX3 LT, AX4 LT and AX5 LT.

The TotalOne NXG is a great stick. I noticed right away that it has a nice feel to the stick when you're shooting and stickhandling. This will help you out alot when you are streaking down the wing and need to keep your head up, but still want to know where the puck is. The feel on the blade will help you know where on your blade the puck is. It has an amazing flex point on it. It has a mid  flex point so it will help you get those big, powerful bombs to the net. The stick has such a good feel when you shooting. It is really light, so you can swing the stick better. It was just one of those sticks that you don't want to stop shooting.

Patented Dual-Density Blade Core- Delivers unmatched balance,power and feel on pass reception and stickhandling

eLASTech Technology- Helps prevent micro fractures in the stick. Micro fractures are tiny cracks in the shaft from slashes or blocked shots, which just expand until the stick breaks. Also extends the pop life of the stick

Overall I loved the stick. The shots you could get off with it were very powerful. I would recommend this stick to a defensman who takes big slapshots from the point, or a forward who just likes big shots.If you are looking for a cheaper version, there is the Bauer Supreme One.9, One.8, One.7, One.6, One.5 and One.4.

Bauer Nexus 1000 Review

The Nexus 1000 has a great look and feel throughout the stick. It's a pretty light stick, just like all the newest top of the line Bauer sticks. It has a nice feel to it when your taking shots, the stick just breezes right through. It feels really light when your shooting too. Its your basic top of the line Bauer stick, light, nice feel and a great stick for anyone. It also has a cool stealthy black look.

Specs:
Nexus TRU-mid flex profile- it is a lower kick point that helps with quicker and higher release

eLASTech- Helps prevent micro-fractures in the shaft. Micro-fractures just would grow bigger and bigger until the stick snaps

TeXtreme- A strong and light carbon fiber in the stick that makes the stick durable and 20% lighter then conventional carbon

Monocomp Technology- Its a single molding process that ensures product performance and consistency

POWER CORE 3 blade- has both AERO- FOAM II and POWER CORE 3 foams in the blade

Pure Shot blade profile- Gives the stick an expanded throat and prevents the blade from flexing, improving accuracy

Overall the stick looked cool, felt light and was an amazing stick. Just another great job by Bauer. The stick costs $259, but it has downgrades. There is the Nexus 800, Nexus 600 and Nexus 400, all cheaper.

Reebok RibCor Review

Here is my review for the Reebok RibCor stick

The RibCor has a very nice blade. The SXX Blade is very nice. It gives you a great feel for the puck and it is very light weight. The ribbed shaft gives the stick a very nice pop. When you are taking wristshots, snapshots and slapshots. It is a light weight and thin stick, weighing in at 430 grams. It definitely feels very nice when your shooting. It has a stealthy look. The black and green are nice colours in a stick, but not very popular.

Specs: Ribbed Shaft Technology puts the carbon fibers in in tension so you get a better and longer lasting pop out of the stick. It works just as advertised.

Tri Matrix Construction helps change the degrees of the stick when shooting on the backhand vs the forehand

SXX Blade construction makes the blade extremely stiff when shooting. That increases accurcy on all your shots.

Overall I really like the RibCor. It was voted the number one stick of fall 2013 by Total Hockey. I would have to test it out on the ice before I could call it that. I would definitely recommend the stick. The RibCor is a new addition of the Reebok K line. It started off with the 7K, then the 10K, the the 11K, then the 20K now the RibCor. If your looking for a cheaper stick there is the Reebok RibCor 23K, 24K, and 25K. All based on the RibCor.

Bauer Vapor APX2 Review

The APX2 was crazy light, the lightest stick I ever used. Even though it was so light it didn't have that feeling like it was going to break like other really light sticks. It had a nice feel on the blade and was very responsive. The shaft also had a nice feel and flex. I liked the feel of the matte finish on the stick. I like the design on it too.

Specs: Aero-Sense Blade Core makes the blade lighter, more responsive and have a better feel for the puck.

The eLASTech shaft helps prevent mini fractures inside the shaft that happen with a slash or blocking a shot. The fracture grows bigger and bigger until the stick snaps.

Intelli-sense Shot Technology changes the flex points in the stick when your taking wristshots and slapshots. When you take slapshots it adds a second flex point in the stick.

TeXtreme Construction in the stick makes it durable and light.

Micro Feel II Shaft Dimension gives the stick rounded corners on the shaft for a better feel when holding the stick.

Overall the APX2 is an amazing stick. I loved it and would definitely recommend it. It is for a player who takes all types of shots. if you like Bauer sticks but don't like the Intelli-Sense then maybe you would prefer the Bauer Nexus 1000 stick. If you take more snapshots and slapshots then maybe you would prefer the Bauer Supreme Totalone NXG stick. All those sticks are $259. For cheaper prices there is the Bauer Vapor X100, X90, X80 and X70. All based on the APX2

Easton Velocity V9E Review

The V9E has a nice feel to it when your shooting, like most top of the line sticks. This one feels a bit better though, when you take your first shots. It is quite light, lighter then other sticks I have tried. The Hypertoe doesn't make a huge difference for me. I can barely feel it except a little bit on snapshots. It shoots so easily right off the rack.  Probably some of the nicest looks I've seen on a stick, I love the orange!

Specs: Tuned Flex Profile makes the kickpoint of the stick lower which loads more energy into the taper.

Hypertoe helps you get more velocity and pop on your shots of the toe, however it decreases velocity and pop on the heel.

Segmented Blade Core With Airex Foam helps improve response and feel of the puck on the blade.

Overall the Easton V9E is a nice stick. I'd recommend it to people who like to take wristshots and snapshots, but I'd recommend the V9 to people who take slapshots and snapshots. Both sticks are $259.

CCM RBZ Stage 2 Review

Here is the review for the CCM RBZ Stage 2 stick.

The stick had a nice feel to it when it was shooting. The only problem when shooting was you didn't get much feel for the puck. It didn't feel like something you would find in a high end stick. The grip was very nice. Really sticky but not super sticky. Also available in clear too, for those who don't like the grip. It has a extremely smooth matte finish on the blade. It is durable and the adhesive on hockey tape sticks to it better than a rough or gloss finished blade. The looks on the stick are really nice. My team jerseys are red, white and black so the stick would look pretty good with it, even though looks are not the main concern when buying a stick (unless your 7 years old) but it usually is a bonus!!

Specs:

The blade is a SpeedBlade 2 with Freak Channels. Since the stick is not mine I couldn't try slapshots or snapshots, only wristshots. You don't feel that big of a difference with wristers but maybe if you took some harder shots you would feel a difference.

It has a Power Swing Technology which helps the feel when swinging the stick back and forth. I noticed that while shooting! It makes a more balanced feel while shooting.

The Custom Kick Point makes the kick point change when your shooting. It is almost like the Intelli-Sense Shot Technology on the Bauer Vapor APX and APX2 line. It makes the flex points change on wristshots, snapshots and slapshots. 

Overall the CCM RBZ Stage 2 was nice but nothing special. There are some cool things in them that you notice but don't make a HUGE difference. I would still recommend it though. The stick is $259.

Warrior Dt1 LT Stick Review

I had the Yakapov curve, which is a crazy curve. It is like an Ovechkin curve. It doesn't even look legal. The curve can defiantly help you get pucks higher off the ice. When your  shooting with the Warrior it has a great feel. Its light and responsive. No doubt that it would feel great on the ice for anyone. The blade is really responsive and feels great while shooting. The Dt1 LT has some nice looks too!
Overall I loved the stick. It is $269 at The Hockey Shop in Surrey, BC. If you don't want to pay that much there is the Dt2 LT, Dt3 LT, Dt4 LT and DT5 LT which are all cheaper than the Dt1 LT but not quite as good.
